Our client appointed CTD Architects to undertake a feasibility study into the re-development of the former Garston Baths. As a prominent site at the heart of the district centre, that has remained empty for a considerable number of years the proposed development was encouraged by local residents and local council.
Two proposals were put forward, one for an extra care facility and another being a full retail scheme. Extensive consultation was undertaken with the local council to demonstrate the suitability and need for medium scale retail development in the local area. The project received planning permission in November 2015. 3D visualisations produced through Sketchup were able to demonstrate the suitability of the scheme in relation to its wider context and address site specific access concerns.
