The Ashes Exclusive Wedding Venue
Client : Ensarb Ltd | Location : Endon, Staffordshire
The Ashes is a Grade II* Listed 17th-century Gentleman’s country house and collection of 17th-18th century stone outbuildings and barns which are Grade II Listed in their own right, set in 50 acres of Staffordshire Moorland countryside. It was the owners vision to retain the collection of buildings in single ownership and to comprehensively up-grade and adapt the farmhouse as the owners family home and to sensitively convert the outbuildings and barns to form a wedding venue, which includes a ceremony barn, wedding breakfast barn and bar with reception and kitchen facility, bridal ready-room and office accommodation associated with the venue.
The farmhouse and farm buildings were in a poor state of repair and required extensive and expensive on-going maintenance and repair. The creative new use for the farm buildings as a Wedding Venue sustains these important ‘heritage assets’ and self-generates the financial investment required to maintain and upkeep the collection of buildings.
